Description
BY-O-COAT OC 3KW is a bio-based oleophobic colloidal silica, sustainably synthesized from rice husk and specially designed as a multifunctional additive for waterborne coatings. It provides strong oil, hydrocarbon, and water repellency, while improving hydrophobic and oleophobic performance of aqueous formulations. With high surface activity, OC 3KW accumulates on the surface of coatings and chemically integrates into the polymer network via -OH reactivity, ensuring long-lasting effects. It also improves substrate wetting, water resistance, blush resistance, anti-blocking, and weather resistance, making it ideal for high-performance aqueous topcoats such as polyurethanes, melamine systems, and epoxy-acrylate blends.

- Waterborne topcoats: 2K polyurethanes, alkyd/melamine, polyester/melamine, acrylate/melamine, and acrylate/epoxy systems.
